Interview of the month - February 2008

Jacquelyn Landry

How long have you been knitting?
Knit: about 5 years, Crochet: 23 or so.

Who taught you?
My grandmother, Kica.

Do you have a favorite technique?
I like to try all sorts of different techniques.

Which material do you prefer?
I get sucked in by luxury fibers but softness is an absolute must!

What inspires you?
What's on the runways, pop culture, movies, music...you name it, I get ideas everywhere.

Tell us about something you've knit that you're really satisfied with! (A picture of said thing would be lovely, and if you want to tell us about more than one thing, that's fine too!)
I just finished a worsted version of the zebedee hat that I was really happy with because it can be worn more than one way. I also like incorporating different materials when I can and the hat is laced with thin black ribbon and a thicker black lace tape. Zeebad is available for download on my site free.

What does knitting mean to you?
Knitting is my peace. I just love it.

Do you knit together with others on a regular basis?
I'm not really surrounded by other knitters but I have successfully converted my mom, daughter, and best friend which might just be better.

Do you work with knitting in any way, or is it a hobby only?
I have a design line at jacquelynlandry.com that focuses on classic, clean lines with a little dash of glamour that are actually wearable and available to a wide range of sizes. I think women of all shapes and sizes can knit things that work well on their particular figure because we are all beautiful.
